- NLU Delhi's own law entrance test.

- B.Arch
- A five-year architecture degree leading to a licence to practise.
- B.Des
- A four-year design degree.
- B.Plan
- A four-year degree in town and regional planning.
- B.Stat and B.Math
- Statistics and maths degrees offered only by ISI.
- BA LLB
- A five-year law degree combined with a bachelor's subject.
- BFA and BVA
- Four-year fine arts degrees.
C
- CLAT
- The entrance test for most National Law Universities.
- CMI
- Chennai Mathematical Institute, a small maths institute with its own test.
- Counselling
- The process that allots seats by rank and your list of choices. Despite the name, it means seat allotment, not career advice.
- CUET-UG
- The common test for Delhi University, BHU and many other universities.
- Cut-off
- The last rank or score that won a seat in a round.

- IAT
- The entrance test for the IISERs and IISc's BS.
- IISER
- Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research, offering BS-MS degrees.
- IIT
- Indian Institute of Technology.
- IPM
- A five-year IIM programme combining a bachelor's degree and an MBA.
- IPMAT
- The entrance test for the IPM at IIM Indore and IIM Rohtak.
- ISI
- Indian Statistical Institute, entered through its own test.

- JEE Advanced
- The second-stage exam for the IITs.
- JEE Main
- The national engineering exam, with papers for architecture and planning.
- JoSAA
- The single counselling process for the IITs, NITs and IIITs.
N
- NATA
- The architecture aptitude test used by most B.Arch colleges.
- NEST
- The entrance test for NISER and CEBS Mumbai.
- NID
- National Institute of Design, entered through NID DAT.
- NIFT
- National Institute of Fashion Technology, with its own exam.
- NLU
- National Law University.

- Percentile
- The share of candidates you scored above.
- Placement
- Jobs offered to final-year students through the college.
- Portfolio
- A collection of your own drawings, projects or photographs.

- UCEED
- The design entrance test for the IITs and other institutes.
