On a large freelance website, contracts in the jobs AI can most easily do fell a few per cent within a year of the AI tools arriving. US salary records show firms hiring fewer juniors. Employers rank UI and UX design among the fastest-growing roles, and graphic design among the fastest-shrinking.

What this means for you

Routes that mix logical thinking with a craft, such as product and interaction design, sit at the safer end. Routine production, such as basic animation, VFX and graphic work, is more exposed. So build skills AI cannot copy easily. Taste, subject knowledge, seeing how parts fit together, and the ability to build in code will hold their value. No Indian study has measured this yet, so treat this as a forecast.
