Chartered Accountancy vs Commerce

Cost, entrance and pay side by side, and who each one suits better.

Which suits whom

CA costs about 75,000 to 85,000 in ICAI fees for one attempt at each of its three levels, plus 2 years of training, but only 15 to 19 per cent passed each CA Foundation sitting in 2025-26; by the author’s estimate a newly qualified CA starts at about 12.5 to 12.9 lakh. A B.Com (Hons) takes 3 or 4 years through CUET-UG, and most CA students take a B.Com alongside. CA suits students ready for several years of hard exams for a high-value qualification; a B.Com suits those who want a degree on a fixed timeline, with or without CA.
